A San Diego Tradition
Our story began in the early 1960s when Fidel Montanez started serving tacos from his busy barber shop in the Eden Gardens neighborhood of Solana Beach.
The tacos quickly became a local favorite, and what began as a simple idea grew into one of North County’s most beloved Mexican restaurants.
Over the years, Fidel transformed his family property into the vibrant destination guests know today—complete with multiple dining levels, festive courtyards, outdoor patios, bars, and gathering spaces designed for making memories.
More than sixty years later, Fidel’s remains a place where generations of families celebrate birthdays, reunions, happy hours, and everyday moments around great food and good company.
